Account and service data
The server stores your email, display name, hashed password, sessions, allowance ledger, necessary usage metadata and encrypted service credentials. It does not receive or store conversation text, transcripts, recordings or desktop preparation notes.
Older deployments may retain preparation data previously saved through the website. Removing that feature does not automatically delete historical database records; the operator must handle them under the applicable data agreement.
Desktop requests and AI services
The desktop app sends audio, questions and necessary context directly to model services for recognition and responses. Their retention and processing depend on their policies. Local conversation storage does not mean that processing is offline.
Local history and deletion
Conversation transcripts, responses, resume and preparation details are stored on your computer. Delete sessions in the desktop session list and clear preparation in your profile. These records do not synchronize between devices; signing out does not delete local records. Other people using the same system account may access them.
Credentials and account controls
The website uses HttpOnly cookies and HTTPS in production. The desktop main process manages login and encrypts credentials using the operating system. Signing out clears that device’s login; other sessions can remain active.
You can change your password and sign out. Email verification, email password recovery and self-service account deletion are not implemented in this version. Public registration remains closed. Contact your account operator for account-specific assistance.
Permission to use assistance
Use Hintline for preparation, mock interviews, accessibility support and conversations where participants permit assistance. Obtain permission before capturing audio and follow the rules of the interview or meeting.
